Varun began by explaining that he can now reveal the story, as he and Natasha have been married for a while and are now parents. He confessed that his proposal was far from the perfect romantic scene it might appear to be.

 

"When I first fell in love with Natasha, I played the song by Marc Anthony called 'You Sang to Me'," Varun revealed, setting the scene. "So I played that song, and she was wondering, 'Why did you play such an old song?'" His elaborate plan involved an underwater surprise. "I was trying to be in the pool… and I wanted to go down with the ring, come up, and give it to her," he said.

 

However, things didn't go according to plan. Varun said he tried to go underwater with the ring two or three times, but each attempt was a struggle. "So it was not filmy as it seems," he confessed. By the time he went for his final attempt and came out of the water, he found that Natasha had already stepped out of the pool, leaving him with no choice but to propose on land.
