Madhur Bhandarkar opens up on entourage cost in Bollywood!

Madhur Bhandarkar's socially conscious stories have been credited with altering the course of many actresses' careers. The filmmaker has discussed his experiences working with some of the biggest actresses in the nation, such as Priyanka Chopra and Kareena Kapoor, as the controversy surrounding star entourages heats up. He acknowledged that, in light of the film's budget, they had cut their own fees.
When Madhur Bhandarkar was asked if he had any problems with the star entourage during a recent media chat, he immediately brought up the fact that all of the female actors had reduced their prices to work with him. He revealed, “Since I only had a budget of ₹1.5 crore for Chandni Bar, Tabu didn't charge any fee for the film. She took money against Bombay or Delhi territory, and nothing else apart from that. She worked with such conviction.”
The director went on to list a few actresses. He disclosed the price reductions made by Bipasha Basu for Corporate and Raveena Tandon for Satta. Additionally, Kareena Kapoor (heroine) and Priyanka Chopra (fashion) reduced their fees. “They didn’t charge the market price from me because they were keen on making these movies. The entire film was resting on their shoulders so everybody slashed their prices,” Madhur further shared.
Bhandarkar was one of few very economical filmmakers in his era who, with his storylines, managed to win both critical and commercial acclaim. Priyanka Chopra was the lead in his 2008 film Fashion 2008, which also stars Kitu Gidwani, Arbaaz Khan, Mughda Godse, and Samir Soni. The goal of a small-town girl to succeed in the modelling business is the central theme of the film. For this movie, Priyanka even took home the National Film Award for Best Female Actor.
On the other hand, Kareena in Madhur's Heroine (2012), which starred Arjun Rampal, Randeep Hooda, and Divya Dutta among others, examined the lives of a fading superstar.
Four times a recipient of the National Film Award, Madhur's Chandni Bar (2001) took home the prize for Best Film on Social Issues, Page 3 (2005) received Best Feature Film, and Traffic Signal (2007) took home the Best Direction honors.
